Reach Out and SOC Someone

"SendOutCards is fast, easy and fun".  "SOC; it's simple and it works".  "Send cards and help others send cards".  I hear these slogans all the time.  Is that really all there is to becoming a successful SOC distributor?  Well, actually, that's not all there is to it.  It also requires a lot of work to be successful as a SendOutCards distributor.  You do have to work hard but it's not hard work. 

Someone once said, "most people will miss a great opportunity because it arrives looking like work."  Let me break down each of these slogans to better understand what it takes to be successful at sending these wholesale greeting cards.

Is it really fast, easy and fun sending cards with this system?  Absolutely.  First of all you can send one card or 500 wholesale greeting cards with postage already included in less than 5 minutes.  Second, it's as easy as sending a regular email and a lot more fun.  Especially when you get a call from the person you sent the card to.  I don't expect anything in return when I send out cards but it feels really good when someone does respond with a nice comment.  Here are just three of several comments I've received in response to a card I sent:

"Hey Roland, it's Mary Wilhite, the card was absolutely gorgeous!!! Good touch, good taste...I love the art, I love everything! I look forward to talking to you! Oh, and thank you for the gift card!  I just love Starbucks!"

"I love this photo and everyone here at work loves it as well. Yes, I would like to design a card because I have another favorite photo that I would really like to see on a card." P. Burwell

"Thank you again for all your help.  I can't wait to hear from everybody on how much they LOVE  the invites. Please say help to Marge for me. Thanks Roland!"  D. Hanna

Can you really become successful by sending cards and helping others to send cards?  Yes, you can.  The process of sending cards and helping others to send cards requires action on your part.  Your success is in direct proportion to your ability to master this process.  There are many distributors, including myself, who have done well in this area who are willing to help you.  And it doesn't matter who sponsored who.  It doesn't matter whose organization you're in--everybody in SOC helps everybody.  All you need to do is ask.


Is it really that simple and does it really work?
  Yes, on both counts.  There is no reason to try and guess what your next step should be when you become a distributor.  SOC provides the "daily 8".  This is a system of 8 easy steps that you should strive to achieve each day.  Keeping track of your progress will give you instant feedback on your progress.  Having a slow week?  Check your daily 8 status. Your success is in direct proportion to your commitment to your daily 8.  SOC also provides a simple business plan called the 90 day action plan that is designed to guide you on the path to become a successful distributor in the shortest amount of time possible.  Please note that this is an action plan--the key word being action--your success will be in direct proportion to the action that you take.

So, in essence, SOC really is fast, easy and fun and all you have to do is send cards and help other people do the same.  And it works--if you work it.  You have to work hard but it's not hard work.

How to Get 30,000 to 120,000 Site Views in 30 Days

I just stumbled upon a very cool method to get a lot of free targeted traffic to your website or blog.  This traffic generating strategy is easy and fast to learn and implement.  All you need is a Twitter account, a Posterous account and a blog or website. Five simple steps:
  1. Create or obtain a "how to" document to which you have permission to post and/or share on Posterous (it will be rejected if there are any copyright issues).
  2. Extract as many key points, sentences and/or impact statements from the "how to" document as you can.
  3. Post the document to your Posterous site with a link to your main blog or website (make sure your blog or website is relevant to the topic of your "how to" document).
  4. Convert each key point, sentence and/or impact statement into a tweet with a link to the Posterous site.
  5. Start sending the tweets at the rate of one, two, three or four tweets per hour.
  • Note 1: I use SocialOomph to manage my tweets. It saves me at least 2 hours per day. Try it free for 30 days and see your traffic soar: SocialOomph.
    • Note 2: Depending on the quality of the tweet, you can expect to receive an average of 100 site views per tweet on your Posterous site.
    That's 1000 – 4000 site views per day.
    Do this everyday; that's 30,000 – 120,000 site views in 30 days.  As a result of this traffic you will see an increase in your blog or website traffic.

    Whatever Happened to Dora Moore?

    This four part story was inspired by a period in the life of Dora Maar.  Dora Maar (November 22, 1907 – July 16, 1997) was a French photographer, poet and painter of Croatian descent, best known for being a lover and muse of Pablo Picasso.

    This four part story will be presented over the course of the next four weeks or the next 30 days in 100 word segments.  The rationale for this will be explained at the end of the 30 days, or at the end of the story, whichever comes first.

    Part One--Alone in Her Own Bed


    2/23/11  Her name is Dora Moore. She has medium brown hair and green eyes. She's five feet, eight inches tall and weighs one hundred and twenty five pounds. She got married (against her parent’s wishes) to a Navy man when she was 19. She gave birth to a beautiful baby boy six months later. They struggled to make ends meet. They argued.  Sometimes he'd leave the house and not return until very late.  One night, while she was holding the baby, he yelled at her. The baby started to cry. Dora started to cry. He started to cry. “I’m so sorry!”

    How to Help People Get What They Want

    If you believe in your network marketing product or service and you're having difficulty making sales or finding recruits chances are you are not contacting enough people.  I know, contacting people can be scary. You know what it's like to be approached by someone trying to get you to buy something you don't want or need and you don't want to inflict that same feeling on other people. Plus you know some (OK, a lot) of people aren't into (OK, hate) Network Marketing (OK, MLM). So you make up excuses not to contact more people. So, what can you do? First, you have to develop the mindset that when you contact someone you are not doing it to interrupt their life--you're doing it to help them.  But if you haven't done any research or asked any questions how do you know HOW you can help them?  Start out by saying hello, or commenting on something they said, or thanking them for something they've done. Everyone loves to be noticed and appreciated as long as it's sincere.  Break the ice, be gracious, and be patient.

    Ten Things You Should Know About Appreciation


    Ten insights on why it's important to show appreciation:
    1. You should take a few minutes each day to send someone a thank you note.
    2. You should set aside some time to call a friend or a family member to thank them for something they did.
    3. You should not expect anything in return when you send the note.
    4. You should not ask for anything when you call.
    5. Your note doesn't have to be long or elaborate (see sample above).
    6. Showing appreciation will make both you and the recipient will feel good.
    7. By showing appreciation, your life will be made better by the good will that you surround yourself with.
    8. People are attracted to positive minded people who remember and appreciate others.
    9. By showing appreciation, you will become the kind of person that others gravitate to and enjoy being around.
    10. Never fake appreciation. People can smell false gratitude (B.S.) a mile away.

    What is Sexual Transmutation?

    According to Napoleon Hill, author of Think and Grow Rich, the tenth step toward riches is SEXUAL TRANSMUTATION.
    Transmutation, he explains, is "the changing, or transferring of one element, or form of energy, into another."
    Mr. Hill states that scientific research has disclosed the following facts:
    1.  The men of greatest achievement are men with highly developed sex natures; men who have learned the art of sex transmutation.
    2.  The men who have accumulated great fortunes and achieved outstanding recognition in literature, art, industry, architecture, and the professions, were motivated by the influence of a woman.
    Mr. Hill includes in this chapter a list of "TEN MIND STIMULI".  This list contains stimuli to which the mind responds most freely to.  The emotion of SEX is at the top of the list.  Take notice that I said the emotion of sex--not the physical act.  The emotion of sex is an energy that can be transmuted into a creative energy that can be used to "communicate with sources of knowledge not available through the ordinary rate of vibration of thought."
    Mr. Hill writes at length on Love, Romance and Sex.  "Love," he says,"brings one into communion with Infinite Intelligence.  When mixed with romance and sex, it may lead one far up the ladder of creative effort.  The emotions of love, sex, and romance, are sides of the eternal triangle of achievement-building genius.  Nature creates genii through no other force."
    Mr. Hill closes on a powerful--and perhaps--somewhat chauvinistic note.  "Man's greatest motivating force is his desire to please woman!" he declares.  "No man is happy or complete without the modifying influence of the right woman.  The man who does not recognize this important truth deprives himself of the power which has done more to help men achieve success than all other forces combined."
    I tend to agree--but what then is Woman's greatest motivating force?

    The Power of the Master Mind

    According to Napoleon Hill--author of Think and Grow Rich--the ninth step toward riches is THE POWER OF THE MASTER MIND.

    The Power of the Master Mind, he explains, is the "the driving force."  Hmmm...what exactly does that mean?  So, once again, I'm off to read this chapter of the book and I'll be back later to report.  Until then, here is an interesting quote that relates to master mind theory:

    OK, I'm back and I'm happy to report that I've come away enlightened.

    If you have  a GOAL and you have a PLAN you need POWER in order to translate your PLAN into ACTION.  The more POWER you have the more ACTION is taking place.  The more ACTION that is taking place, the faster you will reach your goal (or the greater the results).  How can you acquire more POWER?  Mr. Hill states that POWER may be defined as "organized and intelligently directed KNOWLEDGE."  He also indicates that there are three sources of power; infinite intelligence, accumulated experience, and experiment and research.  This is where the POWER of the MASTER MIND comes in.  Mr. Hill defines the master mind as "the coordination of knowledge and effort, in a spirit of harmony, between two or more people, for the attainment of a definite purpose." 

    Imagine surrounding yourself with a team of supporters as you pursue your goal.  The liklihood of achieving your goal increases significantly.
